This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding data collection and usage when you use the QuickHand mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you use QuickHand, we may collect the following types of information:

  • Chat Messages: The text you input into the chat interface to interact with our AI assistant.
  • Role Selection: Your chosen role (Founder, Student, Teacher, Creator, Property Agent, Product Manager, or General) to personalize your experience.
  • Account Information: If you connect third-party services (Notion, Gmail), we collect necessary authentication tokens and permissions.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used, actions taken, and session duration.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Log Data: Technical information such as IP address, browser type, and crash reports to improve app stability.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Web Search Results: When you use our web search feature, we retrieve information from Exa API based on your queries.
  • Connected Services: If you authorize connections to Notion or Gmail, we receive confirmation of successful actions (e.g., page created, draft saved).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Provide AI Assistance: Process your queries and generate personalized responses based on your selected role.
  • Web Search Integration: Fetch relevant information from the web to provide accurate, up-to-date answers with citations.
  • Execute Actions: Facilitate integrations with Notion and Gmail when you request to save content or draft emails.
  • Improve Our Service: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features, fix bugs, and optimize performance.
  • Personalization: Remember your role preference and recent conversations to provide a tailored experience.
  • Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access to the App.

3. Data Storage and Retention

Session Data: Your chat messages and conversations are stored temporarily during your session. We may retain your last 5 conversations to provide continuity in your experience.

Cloud Storage: If enabled, conversation data may be stored in Supabase to sync across sessions. You can delete this data at any time from your app settings.

Retention Period: We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. Inactive accounts may have data deleted after 12 months of inactivity.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

  • AI Processing: We use OpenAI to process your queries and generate responses.
  • Web Search: Exa API is used to retrieve web search results based on your queries.
  • Database: Supabase may store your conversation history if you opt-in to cloud sync.
  • Integrations: Smithery MCP facilitates connections to Notion and Gmail when you authorize these actions.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of QuickHand, our users, or others.

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the new entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access and Control

  • View Your Data: Access your stored conversations and role preferences within the App.
  • Delete Your Data: Delete individual conversations or all data from the App settings.
  • Disconnect Services: Revoke access to Notion or Gmail integrations at any time.

5.2 Opt-Out Options

  • Cloud Sync: Disable cloud storage to keep conversations local to your device only.
  • Analytics: Opt out of usage analytics in the App settings.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols
  • Secure authentication tokens for third-party integrations
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Access controls and authentication for our internal systems

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

QuickHand is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.
